Key DeliverablesOver the past 25 years, Zen has evolved from a pioneering ISP into a fully managed service infrastructure provider. We have built and sold a full portfolio of telecommunications services to mid-market and corporate customers including complex networking solutions, cloud services, hosted voice and professional services. Building on this success, we now want to add an additional northern based Business Development Manager to our established business development team.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the generation of new business opportunities through to successful closure across the range of our business portfolio. This is a 100% new business role so the chosen candidate will need to build and maintain a strong pipeline. You'll recommend appropriate solutions across this portfolio, based upon qualified requirements, to a wide range of business customers from SMEs to large Enterprises/Corporates in a variety of industry sectors. Although this is a targeted role, where you'll generate your own appointments and follow up on qualified leads, the key focus of the role will be ensuring the customer has the right solution for their needs. This role will suit a proactive, customer-focused and ambitious sales professional with a proven track record in business to business solutions sales gained within the IT industry.
Key Responsibilities- Identify new business opportunities using your existing knowledge of the market.
- Generate new leads and business opportunities through a structured approach to profiling and targeting potential new clients.
- Build relationships with senior/key stakeholder contacts within prospect customers.
- Introduce and manage the Zen resources (especially pre-sales technical) required to support progressing and winning opportunities.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to drive new lead generation from campaigns.
- Progress new business opportunities through the buying cycle to successful closure.
- Achieve all targets and objectives aligned to the role.
- Provide regular and accurate reports on pipeline and new target opportunities.
- Contribute to product development and improvement activity.
- Keep abreast of competitor products, pricing, market performance, strengths and weaknesses in order to maximise Zen's business opportunities.
- Adopt a best practice, customer-centric approach to all acquisition activity.
- Be proactive in your approach to customer acquisition.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of Zen's solutions and strategies.
- Ensure best practice in your approach to selling and fitting solutions to requirements.
