Location: Thriving Secondary School, Cardiff

Position: Full-Time, Long-Term (Immediate Start)

Pay Rate: £110 to £120 per day (depending on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for secondary-aged pupils with visual impairment at a thriving secondary school in Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with visual impairment, ensuring they are motivated and stay on task throughout lessons.
  • Adapt and create bespoke resources to suit the specific needs of each pupil.
  • Assist in the use of specialist equipment and technology, including the Dolphin Computer Access Vision Aid (experience with this is a distinct advantage).
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEND team to ensure that pupils are fully integrated and can access the curriculum effectively.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment, promoting independence and self-confidence.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience supporting pupils with visual impairment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to create and adapt resources to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Experience with Dolphin Computer Access Vision Aid or similar assistive technology is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
