We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Data Manager to join our school’s administrative team. This role is ideal for someone with previous management experience who is comfortable working within a developing office structure and supporting the school through a period of planned change.
Initially, the postholder will sit within the admin team, playing a key role in maintaining accurate data systems, supporting compliance, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the school. As the office structure evolves over the coming months, the responsibilities and scope of the role may develop accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain, update, and oversee the school’s data management systems (e.g. pupil, attendance, assessment, and staff data).
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of all school data in line with GDPR requirements.
- Produce regular reports for senior leaders, governors, and external agencies.
- Support statutory returns and census submissions.
- Use prior management experience to support and guide administrative processes and colleagues where appropriate.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of office systems and workflows.
- Support change management as the office structure and responsibilities evolve.
- Work closely with the admin team to ensure effective information flow across the school.
- Liaise with teaching staff and senior leaders to support data-informed decision-making.
- Assist with planning and implementing improvements to data and administrative systems.
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience in data management, ideally within an educational setting.
- Previous management or supervisory experience.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- High level of competence with data systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to change.
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
Desirable
- Experience working in a school or similar educational environment.
- Knowledge of school MIS systems.
