We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join the Specialist Resource Team at a large secondary school in Cardiff. This role involves providing tailored support to secondary‑aged pupils with autism, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and additional learning needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities and help adapt lessons to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage social interaction and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils' emotional and developmental needs, fostering independence and confidence.
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with autism or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • A strong interest or experience in platforms such as Minecraft, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, or similar hobbies that align with the pupils' interests.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate well with pupils, staff, and parents.
