About Zelt: At Zelt, we are not just building HR software. We are reinventing how modern companies manage HR, payroll, and IT. Zelt is a platform that brings HR, payroll, and IT together into one seamless system, helping companies manage employee operations in a more modern, automated, and intuitive way. We have been recognised by G2 as a High Performer across HR, IT, and Payroll, making us the only European vendor with that status, and we are scaling rapidly across the United Kingdom and beyond.

About the Role: As we continue to grow, design plays an increasingly important role in how our customers experience the platform. This is a highly impactful Senior Product Designer role sitting at the centre of the product organisation. At Zelt, design is embedded very closely with Product and Engineering, meaning designers are involved early in conversations around product direction, user experience, workflows, feature ideas, and prioritisation. This is not a role where design operates separately from decision-making. You will work cross-functionally on a daily basis.

You will work across the full design lifecycle, from early concepts and wireframes through to polished UI and launch, with the opportunity to see your work go live within weeks rather than quarters. Beyond core product design, there is also exposure to broader visual and brand-related work, including supporting launches with landing pages, product visuals, lightweight motion assets, and marketing creative. It is a role that combines product thinking, UI craft, usability, and visual storytelling. As part of a lean and collaborative team, the person joining now will have visible impact on both the product experience and the evolution of Zelt’s design identity as the business continues to scale internationally.

Your Tasks:

  • Designing elegant and user-friendly interfaces for new and existing product features across web and mobile
  • Translating complex workflows into intuitive user experiences with strong usability and visual clarity
  • Participating throughout the full product development lifecycle, from ideation and wireframing to final UI and launch
  • Building and maintaining scalable design systems, component libraries, and style guides in Figma
  • Improving consistency and usability across the platform as the product grows
  • Supporting product launches and campaigns through landing pages, product imagery, and visual creative assets
  • Using tools such as Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Claude, Gemini, and HeyGen to support ideation and creative workflows
  • Participating in user feedback sessions and usability discussions to continuously improve the product experience
  • Contributing to the evolution of Zelt’s visual identity across both product and marketing touchpoints.

Your Profile:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing UI design work across web and/or mobile products
  • Multiple years of experience in Product Design, preferably in B2B SaaS environments, whether through full-time roles, internships, freelance work, or personal projects
  • Strong UI fundamentals with a good eye for clean, modern, and intuitive design
  • Confidence using Figma and an interest in scalable design systems and component thinking
  • Good understanding of UX principles and user-centred design
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with Product and Engineering teams
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator or motion/visual design tools is a plus
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

How to prepare for a job interview at Zelt

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Zelt uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
