Zelst is a leading digital marketing agency and proud to be one of the longest established and experienced agencies in the North of England. Due to the continued growth of our agency, our SEO team is expanding and we are on the lookout for an experienced SEO Strategist to join our team.

Full time position (37.5 hours) based at our offices in central Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

  • Manage and be responsible for directing the SEO team.
  • Ensure the SEO team understand the client’s SEO strategy and performance.
  • Be the main SEO contact for clients and the wider Zelst team.
  • Liaise and monitor with clients on their SEO strategy and progress, and report back to the team setting out clients' goals and objectives.
  • Regularly check the progress across all SEO activity.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of your client’s organic landscape; understand their challenges, what the key opportunities for growth are and develop the role SEO plays in their marketing activity to achieve optimum results and ROI.
  • Outline 3, 6 and 12 month plans to prioritise and organise how the team should split the workload and communicate this with the SEO team.
  • Conduct regular SEO audits covering key areas of organic search; from technical audits through to link analysis.
  • Work with other senior team members to lead key SEO projects, such as website migrations and SEO ‘rescues’.
  • Brief the wider team on any key findings that could help to inform their own approach.
  • Regularly use in-house and third-party competitor tools such as Moz, Searchmetrics, Semrush and Ahrefs to carry out keyword research and analysis, and outline future opportunities we should be exploring with each client.
  • Analyse clients' organic performance on a monthly basis and report back findings to senior management.
  • Confidently communicate regularly with the clients to ensure we are constantly working towards the same goals and objectives.
  • Continual personal development and progression through independent training.
  • Assist with training of other SEO team members.
  • Be part of new business development research, preparation and presentation of pitches.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year’s experience in an SEO role at a digital/search marketing agency.
  • Experience in communicating with clients and able to prepare and present an SEO strategy and timeline.
  • Have working knowledge of SEO platforms such as Moz, Ahrefs and Google Search Console.
  • Strong drive to continually learn and develop.
  • Highly efficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines.
