Carl Zeiss Microscopy, a global leader in precision optics and engineering, is looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Lead to join our team in Cambourne. This is a hands-on, strategic role with the opportunity to drive HSE culture, ensure compliance, and implement best practices across our UK sites.

What You’ll Do

✔ Develop and lead the HSE strategy across Cambourne & Lutterworth

✔ Manage risk assessments, COSHH, radiation, and laser safety

✔ Oversee waste management, emissions, pollution & sustainability initiatives

✔ Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and corporate policies

✔ Conduct audits, training, and accident investigations

✔ Collaborate with global teams to align with corporate HSE objectives

What We’re Looking For

🔹 5+ years’ experience in HSE within a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment

🔹 Strong knowledge of COSHH requirements and process services e.g. nitrogen, compressed air, argon, process chilled water.

🔹 NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health

🔹 Ability to engage teams, drive awareness, and shape a positive safety culture
