At Zego, we know that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It’s too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't take into account how well you actually drive. That’s why, since 2016, we’ve been on a mission to change all of that. Our mission at Zego is to offer the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.
From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are our driving force — they’re at the heart of everything we do. We’ve sold tens of millions of policies so far, and raised over $200 million in funding. And we’re only just getting started.
Purpose of the role
As a Retail Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for the commercial application of our optimisation strategy. You will bridge the gap between advanced technical algorithms and real-world market performance. This role is ideal for an analyst with a strong insurance background (potentially within a large personal-lines insurer) who wants to move into a more agile, Python-led environment where they can shape the future of motor insurance pricing.
What you will be working on
- Executing and refining retail pricing strategies across UK and European markets to meet business-critical KPIs.
- Analysing customer price elasticity and churn behaviour to recommend rate changes that maximise lifetime value and portfolio health.
- Monitoring the performance of optimised rates and providing technical deep-dives to the Director of Pricing and senior leadership.
- Leading the pricing for new, innovative products, ensuring our market entry is both competitive and mathematically sound.
What you will need to be successful
- Strong Python coding experience is a requirement. You must be comfortable working within a modern, code-based technical stack.
- Experience within a sophisticated pricing or actuarial function, ideally within the motor insurance sector.
- A desire to move beyond traditional pricing cycles and leverage modern optimisation techniques to drive business growth.
- A track record of balancing commercial ambition with pricing integrity and loss-ratio stability.
