At Zego, we know that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It is too complicated, too expensive, and it does not take into account how well you actually drive. That is why, since 2016, we have been on a mission to change all of that. Our mission at Zego is to offer the lowest priced insurance for good drivers. From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are our driving force — they are at the heart of everything we do. We have sold tens of millions of policies so far and raised over $200 million in funding.

Purpose of the role

As Senior Pricing Manager at Zego, you will be a key leader within the pricing function, responsible for shaping and executing retail pricing strategy across products, markets, and customer segments. You will own complex pricing decisions end to end, balancing growth, profitability, and customer value, while ensuring pricing remains aligned with Zego's broader commercial and strategic objectives. Operating at senior manager level, you will act as a strategic partner to leadership, influence company-wide decision-making, and help scale pricing capability as Zego continues to grow in the UK and Europe. You will set direction, provide thought leadership, and raise the standard of pricing across the organisation.

What you will be working on

  • Partner with the Director of Pricing and senior leadership to define and execute pricing strategy that supports growth, profitability, and long term value creation.
  • Architect and build Zego's proprietary retail price optimisation capabilities for trading via Price Comparison Websites.
  • Own end-to-end retail pricing for a portfolio of products or initiatives, from strategic design through to launch, monitoring, and optimisation.
  • Lead retail pricing decisions for new propositions, market entries, and major commercial changes, ensuring clear rationale, governance, and alignment with business goals.
  • Provide clear commercial insight and recommendations through data driven analysis, translating complex pricing outcomes into actionable decisions for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, underwriting, finance, data, sales, and operations to embed pricing thinking into broader business processes.
  • Act as a thought leader for retail pricing, challenging existing approaches, driving innovation, and raising pricing maturity across the organisation.
  • Mentor and develop other pricing team members, contributing to capability building, best practice, and a high performance culture.

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • Extensive experience in retail price optimisation for personal lines insurance products, with a deep understanding of trading dynamics and competitive strategies on Price Comparison Websites.
  • Advanced Python proficiency with the technical capability to design and build proprietary price optimisation models from scratch.
  • Proven ability to operate at senior manager level, influencing leadership and driving outcomes across multiple stakeholders and functions.
  • Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to balance growth, risk, customer value, and profitability.
  • Advanced analytical capability and comfort working with data driven insights, models, and performance metrics, regardless of specific tools or languages used.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to simplify complexity and influence decision making at executive level.
  • Experience building, scaling, or improving pricing frameworks, governance, or operating models.
  • Demonstrated people leadership or coaching experience, with a track record of developing others and elevating team performance.
