At Zego, we know that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It's too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't take into account how well you actually drive. That's why, since 2016, we've been on a mission to change all of that. Our mission at Zego is to offer the lowest priced insurance for good drivers. From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are our driving force — they're at the heart of everything we do. We've sold tens of millions of policies so far, and raised over $200 million in funding. And we're only just getting started.
About the role
We're looking for a Technical Sourcer to join our Talent Acquisition team on a 6-month FTC, owning the top of the funnel for Engineering hiring. You'll be the first person candidates hear from at Zego, so making that count matters. This role is squarely focused on sourcing, and doing it well. Quality comes first here. We're not hiring at all costs, we're hiring the right people, at pace. You'll be hunting for Software Engineers, Senior Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, and the full‐stack talent that keeps our tech moving. If you get genuinely excited about finding someone the rest of the market has missed, read on.
What you'll be doing
- Proactively sourcing high‐quality engineering candidates across multiple channels and whatever else gets results
- Building and maintaining talent pipelines for Software Engineering and Data functions – with a particular focus on Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, and full‐stack profiles
- Being the first point of contact for candidates, running initial calls, capturing your findings clearly, and setting the tone for a great experience from the very first message
- Partnering with the recruiting team and hiring managers to understand what good looks like for each role
- Working smarter with AI – improving outreach, spotting patterns in pipeline data, and finding efficiencies wherever they exist
- Tracking and reporting on sourcing metrics to keep the team sharp and informed
What you'll need to be successful
- You know tech hiring. At least two years of sourcing experience, with a strong track record in Software Engineering and Data roles – Senior Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, full‐stack profiles
- You work at pace. You've recruited in a start‐up or scale‐up environment and you're comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- You know your tools. You're confident using LinkedIn Recruiter and Juicebox, and you actively look for better ways to use them
- You're into AI. You're actively curious about how AI can enhance your work – keen to experiment, learn quickly, and apply tools that improve productivity or unlock new ways of thinking. Whether you're already hands‐on or fast building confidence, you take ownership of staying ahead
- You make a strong first impression. Candidates will meet Zego through you first. You write well, communicate clearly, and know how to spark a conversation
- You deliver with consistency. You take pride in doing the detail well – thorough notes, clean handovers, and a process the team can rely on
- You measure what matters. You're comfortable with sourcing metrics and use data to improve, not just report
Our toolkit
We believe the tools don't make the sourcer, but the right stack helps us move with velocity. Sourcing – LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox ATS – Workable Collaboration – Notion, Slack, Google Meet Interview & notes – Granola AI & automation – Claude, Gemini, Zapier
