Purpose of the role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Premium Finance to lead and grow our premium finance proposition. This is a high-impact position responsible for driving the commercial success, underwriting integrity, and risk management of our premium finance operations across the UK market. You will shape the strategic direction of our finance offering, build strong internal and external relationships and ensure we remain compliant with all relevant credit and regulatory frameworks.
What you will be doing:
- Strategy & Commercial Development
- Define and deliver the premium finance strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
- Lead product innovation and competitive positioning in the insurance finance space.
- Risk Management & Underwriting
- Oversee credit risk and underwriting policies across personal and commercial finance products.
- Ensure compliance with internal risk frameworks, FCA regulations, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
- Chair or participate in relevant credit committees and risk governance forums.
- Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, compliance, finance and product teams.
- Represent the company in industry events, roundtables, and strategic partnerships.
What you will need to be successful
- In-depth knowledge of UK premium finance regulatory landscape (FCA, consumer credit, affordability).
- Strong background in underwriting, credit policy, or product risk.
- Excellent commercial acumen with experience in launching and scaling financial products.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
