IT Desktop Support Technician to deliver first-line IT support across the business.
This role is responsible for ensuring employees have reliable access to systems, applications, hardware, and services while providing timely resolution of technical issues both remotely and in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, network, and Microsoft 365 issues.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve incidents via phone, email, ticketing systems, MS Teams, and face-to-face support.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions, and password administration.
- Support IT onboarding and offboarding processes for new starters and leavers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support requests and resolutions.
- Escalate complex issues where required and work with senior IT staff or external vendors to ensure successful resolution.
- Follow IT policies, security standards, and best practices to maintain a secure and reliable technology environment.
Skills and experience required
- Experience providing first- and/or second-line IT support in a business environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Good knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and IT service management systems.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routers, switches, and wireless technologies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Customer-focused, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
