We are seeking to find a dedicated First Entry Operator to support the First Entry process shop and final assembly of all products in line with our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. As our new First Entry Operator you will be responsible for ensuring that all parts are prepared for the welding bays and that assembled products are ready for final inspection. Accuracy, traceability, and safe handling of materials are central to this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming pipes and tubes, book them into the system, and carry out Positive Material Identification (PMI) on non-ferrous items using material certificates.
  • Mark all cut parts with PO/heat numbers to maintain full traceability during Work in Progress (WIP).
  • Report progress regularly to the ZEL Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Assemble products to the relevant GA drawings in preparation for Final Inspection.
  • Produce and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Segregate defective items from good product and ensure proper control.
  • Pick kits from stock as part of WIP and provide cover for Stores during holidays.
  • Load and unload pipes safely.
  • Maintain a clean, organised Process Shop area.
  • Keep staging areas clearly marked with job numbers.
  • Ensure pipe stock in the rear yard is clearly labelled, safely stored, and fully traceable.
  • Pull and mark materials as WIP to maintain accurate stock records.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
  • Forklift / Pallet Stacker licence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret piece‑part drawings.
Additional Requirements
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving the Zeeco Quality System in line with ISO 9001:2015.
  • Adherence to the Company Health & Safety Policy and active promotion of a safe working environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Note: Working hours 7:30am - 4pm Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 1pm Friday.
