We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to join our team, supporting the upkeep of our hotels and commercial properties. The role is key to ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our guests and staff. Flexibility is required, including occasional weekends and out-of-hours emergency call-outs.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day maintenance of hotels and commercial properties, assisting with faults and repairs.
- Help with basic plumbing tasks such as unblocking toilets/drains and repairing or replacing taps.
- Carry out minor electrical jobs, including replacing lamps, fittings, sockets, and switches.
- Assist with routine Health & Safety checks such as fire alarm testing, water temperature monitoring, and showerhead descaling.
- Help maintain HVAC systems, including cleaning and replacing filters.
- Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests raised by guests or team members, following reporting procedures.
Person Specification
- Previous experience in a hotel or commercial maintenance role is an advantage.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Practical problem-solving skills.
- A trade qualification (City & Guilds Level 2 or similar) is desirable but not essential.
