Team Leader – Electronics Repair

£36k – £40k plus OT available
We are looking for a Team Leader to join our clients growing Gas Analysis Repair team, providing global technical and commercial support across a wide range of industries. You’ll be working with cutting-edge technologies including Gas Chromatographs, Process Gas Analysers, and Laser Analysers, supporting customers across sectors such as natural gas, refining, power, chemicals, food & beverage, and life sciences.
The Role
As a Repairs Team Leader, you will be responsible for a small repairs team of 3 tasked with performing assessment and repair of factory returned gas analysis equipment. This is a hands-on role, and you will be required to perform repair and full test of the units prior to being returned to the field. You will also need to be a strong people manager bringing structure, prioritising workloads as well as mentorship.
The successful candidate will also be expected to attend leadership meetings, generating and reporting data to inform KPIs and drive improvement across the Repair function.
Please Note – The role may require travel to customer sites of approximately 30% of time.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing priorities and setting the daily workload of bench repairs
- Work with the Service Team Leader to set up reasonable repair times and metrics and work to meet and beat them.
- Incoming repair assessment of field returns
- Report writing and assisting in preparing of customer
- Carrying out of repair and test of the field returns which could involve the following:
- Disassembly, parts replacement, and full reassembly of the returned units
- Carry out component test of lasers and detectors when
- Optical alignment of gas sensor sub-components including optical cells and laser modules
- Full system test of repaired production gas analytical equipment
- Feedback to design teams on all failures of our products to aid continuous
- Maintain the work area to a safe and clean status, working to ESD procedures where necessary.
- Be an active member of the team, contributing ideas for continuous improvement at all levels within the company.

The ideal candidate will ideally be qualified to Degree level or have equivalent work experience inAssembly/Test/Debug /Repair and preferably gas analysers (not-essential) You will be technically strong, self-directed and quick to learn. Bringing a proven aptitude for leading and mentoring technical teams.
