Manufacturing Project Engineer

ZedTalent's client is looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to lead projects from design handover through to full-scale production. Based in a rapidly expanding subcontract manufacturing business producing electromechanical assemblies, this hands-on role covers end-to-end project delivery and ongoing process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage manufacturing projects from design release through to production completion.
- Develop and maintain routings, timings, BOMs, and work instructions using ERP systems.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Optimise processes for repeatability and cost-effectiveness in future production runs.
- Collaborate with internal teams across design, production, and quality.
- Support occasional technical discussions with client design teams.
- Drive improvements in manufacturability, cycle time, and workflow.
- Ensure documentation, compliance, and quality standards are maintained.
About You:
- Ideally, Degree-qualified in Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Circa 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or project engineering role.
- Familiar with ERP/MRP systems for planning and costing.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong foundation in Lean principles; Six Sigma experience (Green Belt desirable).
- Practical, detail-focused, and confident working across departments.
