- Role & Responsibilities of the "Cnc Setter Operator Programmer (Grinder)"
- CNC Setter/Operator (Grinder) to produce machine parts by setting & operating a CNC machine
- Maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Plans machining by studying work orders.
- Sets up and runs grinders by installing and adjusting fixed and rolling centres, tools, attachments, steadies and grinding wheels.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first run part and sample work pieces, adhering to our client’s standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing grinding operation, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting programs where necessary, replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on a daily basis, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs through the intranet systems.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Conceptual skills, process improvements, verbal communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation, supply management, tooling, coordination, inventory control, attention to detail, judgement, team player.
- Additional Requirements
- Control system requirements: Fanuc, Siemens 840D.
- Grinding wheel fitment certification.
- Turning experience would be of benefit.
Education & Experience
- Level 2 (NVQ) Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations
- Level 2/3 (NVQ) Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
- Level 3 Diploma in Engineering and Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 12 months in a machine shop environment using and operating grinding machines.
