Become part of the Supply Chain team and process daily MRP production orders, identify and insert production orders for long lead time materials, maintain and choose slit patterns to make best use of production efficiencies. Purchase materials accordingly and maintain inventory stock levels taking into consideration slow moving and aged stock. Review and maintain all Zipship, Stock Agreements and Wristband inventory. Position requires independent decision‑making, with supervision from manager if necessary. The person is required to be flexible in their approach and interfaces with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Process production WIP orders created by overnight MRP run, pull through production orders for long lead time materials.
- Accommodate ‘standard’ slit widths where necessary.
- Create and maintain text to any unreleased production orders regarding information on delivery as printed out on the planned order list.
- If material is not available check alternate slits / slow moving / aged stock (dependent on press capacity).
- Raise and control purchase orders for material to be brought in using common slit widths (or the best slit width depending on cost of the material), highlighting unusual / mass requirements.
- Maintain material deliveries where appropriate, incorporating the daily maintenance of purchase confirmations.
- Regularly review material slits and consolidate where necessary.
- Regular review and maintenance of stock levels including master rolls held for external slitting and slow moving stocks of raw material to optimise availability of jobs and warehouse space.
- Planning and inventory control of all Zip Ship, Stock Agreement and Wristband items to ensure they meet the manufacturing plan and customer demands ensuring that inventory levels are within agreed levels.
- Raise internal and external slitting orders where necessary.
- Follow ISO procedures / works instructions in place throughout the department.
Qualifications
- Flexible and adaptable in approach, able to provide hands on support.
- Able to build and sustain solid working relationships within the business and work with own and other departments to achieve common goals.
- Excellent time management, planning & organizational skills along with good communication skills.
- Confident, enthusiastic – can do attitude, a team player.
- Well established analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- PC literate with good working knowledge of standard Microsoft applications e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Experience with Oracle ERP an advantage.
- Enthusiastic approach to new technologies.
