What We're Looking For:

Business analysts act as advisors to the business and support sound decision making through the use of data driven insights, coupled with strong business acumen. They work with stakeholders to understand business challenges, design queries and reports to understand root cause, and advise and consult with leadership to implement solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with business stakeholders, designs complex reports using data from one or multiple systems to specifications. Delivers report in format to aid stakeholders, including executive staff, outside the functional area (PowerPoint, PDF, etc.).
  • Provides strategic data driven recommendations to management that effectively influences critical business processes and decisions.
  • Reviews delivered reports for data accuracy. Works independently to resolve quality issues of complex scope directly with business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates advanced level knowledge of KPIs, team roles, and business processes in assigned area and interconnections with data and processes in adjacent areas.
  • Uses business acumen to look beyond the data to generate recommendations for a wide variety of moderately complex problems to review directly with business stakeholders.
  • Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences.
  • Intimately understands system relationships and data flow. Uses industry best practices for data management.
  • Maintains data quality and governance in assigned systems. May be responsible for data governance processes and quality in assigned area of responsibility. Leads governance initiatives and performance optimization.
  • Coaches junior level analysts in data governance, report design and analysis, and data presentation as well as in technical and organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of data governance, enterprise systems, and multi-domain integrations.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of strategic data policy and compliance frameworks.
  • May work to design cross-system, enterprise-level analytical models.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Can synthesize complex data into themes, stories and recommendations.
  • Advanced systems knowledge in assigned functional area. Working knowledge of how systems work together and functionality of systems upstream and downstream.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Can present data in a visually compelling format to help business stakeholders understand the issues, possibilities and recommendations.
  • Advanced presentation skills required. Some formal training in public speaking / presentation skills preferred. Experience presenting to Director and above audiences.
  • Capable of working on ambiguous assignments.
  • Experience with governance ownership, including defining and driving accountability against standards.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Can design enterprise level dashboards that integrate complex data sets across business areas.
  • Experience with advanced data modelling.
  • Can design data pipelines and optimize transformations in cloud data warehouse solutions.
  • Advanced level Python skills for scripting, automation and validation.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Transportation and Logistics knowledge preferred.

Minimum Work Experience: 8+ years of experience.

Minimum Education or Equivalent: In lieu of a degree, candidates with 12+ years of experience will be considered if they have extensive and varied experience in roles demonstrating strategic impact on the business, advanced knowledge of enterprise systems, data governance, and multi-domain integrations, and expertise in designing and presenting executive-level, data-driven recommendations.

Incentive Compensation: In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
