The Company
Our client is a premier UK supplier of world-leading print finishing technology. Partnering exclusively with elite manufacturers from Germany, Japan, and Italy, they provide highly automated, cutting-edge solutions to the printing industry. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a technically-minded Field Service Engineer to join their specialist engineering team.
The Role
This is a home-based field role covering London and the Home Counties. You will be responsible for the "full-lifecycle" support of advanced machinery including binders, stitchers, folders, laminators, and guillotines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Commissioning: Leading the on-site setup of high-value machinery.
- Maintenance: Carrying out scheduled servicing to ensure maximum client uptime.
- Technical Support: Diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Systems & Software: Performing PCB swap-outs, interpreting error codes, and executing software updates.
- Training: Acting as the subject matter expert to train client operators on new equipment.
About You
We are looking for a "multiskilled" engineer someone who is as comfortable with a wrench as they are with a diagnostic laptop.
Engineering Background: Strong mechanical knowledge (gears, bearings, belts) and electrical fault-finding skills.
Electronic Proficiency: Experience with board-level diagnostics (PCBs) and software fixes.
Industry Experience: While print industry experience is highly desirable, we welcome candidates from packaging, FMCG, or automated manufacturing backgrounds.
Requirements: A full UK driving licence and a flexible approach to travel and occasional overnight stays.
