Our client is an industry-leading distributor and engineering service provider for premier manufacturers across continental Europe and the Far East.
Due to sustained growth, they are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their high-performing team.
Technical
Growth: While you must bring strong mechanical expertise from within these specific sectors, you will receive both manufacturer and electrical training to elevate you to a fully multidisciplinary engineer.
The Machinery In the Field Service Engineer role, you will be working on a premium, cutting-edge portfolio of industrial equipment, including:
- Packaging & Carton
Converting: Industrial Die-Cutters (flatbed/rotary), Folder-Gluers, Window Patching, Rigid Box-Making Machinery, Digital Embellishment Presses, and Industrial Cutting Tables.
- E-Commerce & Fulfilment
Automation: Automated "right-size" custom boxing lines, Automated Bagging & Wrapping Systems (flow-wrappers, shrink tunnels), and End-of-Line Automation (case-erectors, palletising robotics).
- Digital Print & Commercial
Finishing: Industrial Wide-Format Digital Printers (hybrid UV LED/roll-to-roll), Industrial Guillotines, Trimmers, and Folding & Binding Systems (saddlestitchers, perfect binders).
Key Responsibilities As a Field Service Engineer, you will travel UK-wide to support, maintain, and install this advanced range of machinery:
- Installation & Commissioning: Supervise the off-loading, positioning, and final commissioning of high-end equipment.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct precision mechanical fault-finding, emergency repairs, and planned service schedules.
- Upgrades & Training: Implement software upgrades and provide hands-on operational training to ensure clients maximise machine performance.
What You’ll Need To be considered for this role, you must be a successful Field Service Engineer with a strong background in machinery within the print, packaging, or converting sectors.
- Industry Experience: Proven field service or maintenance experience with the types of print finishing or packaging machinery listed above.
- Mechanical Expertise: Strong, demonstrable mechanical fault-finding and precision repair skills.
- Electrical Aptitude: A strong willingness to learn; you will be fully trained on electrical fault-finding and repair.
- Licence & Travel: A full UK Driving Licence is essential, along with the flexibility to travel UK-wide regularly and stay overnight. Package & Benefits
