Looking for a seasoned UX Designer who also has strong Service Design experience to work on an initial 6‑month fixed term contract.
The client
We are seeking a Senior UX/Service Designer to join a major financial services programme focused on building a new platform that enables secure, efficient, and controlled sharing of data across the organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to combine hands‑on UX design with strategic service design, helping shape user journeys, service blueprints, and experiences for data products and marketplaces.
This is an initial 6‑month Fixed Term Contact (with possibility of extension) on a pro‑rata salary (not a day rate).
Hybrid: 2 days a week in Central London – no flex.
Key Experience
- Recent experience on banking projects
- Recent experience working on enterprise level apps and services
- Service Design experience
The role
Lead and facilitate design thinking workshops and discovery sessions.
Conduct user research and testing, and translate findings into actionable design outputs.
Create user journeys, service blueprints, flows, and prototypes.
Define information and data flows that interact with users.
Partner with UX, UI, and development teams to bring designs into delivery.
Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders to identify needs, reduce friction, and simplify complex journeys.
Champion user‑centred design principles across the programme, embedding design governance and standards.
The candidate
Financial services background, ideally with data‑driven platforms/programmes.
8+ years in digital design with strong expertise in UX and Service Design.
Proven leadership of UX/Service Design workstreams, able to “connect the dots” across teams.
Strong knowledge of UX methodologies and design deliverables (wireframes, prototypes, UI/UX design).
Skilled in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, Microsoft Office.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
Comfortable in fast‑paced, agile environments, with proven ability to deliver under pressure.
Ability to sketch, paper prototype, and ideate to communicate concepts quickly.
