We are working with an Investment platform service that is looking for a Lead UI Designer/ Manager to join them.
The client is a well-known investment platform helping people turn their money into something greater – whether they’re saving for a rainy day, growing money through investing, buying a home, or building a retirement fund.
The role involves setting the direction for UI Design and inspiring and guiding the design team to deliver delightful experiences. You will manage a team of designers, mentoring and helping them develop, raising the experience and visual design quality, and ensuring teams work effectively to create great products.
You will lead the Design system along with your team, co-creating and iterating on it, while partnering closely with engineering to ensure accurate implementation of components.
Here’s what your day-to-day will involve:
- Hands-on design and ownership of a team of Product Designers, responsible for their output and all aspects of their development and growth.
- Ensuring all team members are challenged and motivated.
- Leading cross-team design and creative sharing sessions to drive consistency of the brand experience and providing regular feedback.
- Conducting weekly 1-2-1 sessions with your line manager to encourage development and growth.
- Ensuring that our brand is applied in an intuitive and engaging way.
- Exploring new creative approaches to projects and challenging existing norms to drive impact.
- Influencing and inspiring all designers across the organisation, advocating for polished, magical, intuitive, and accessible user experiences.
The candidate should be someone who loves design, understands aesthetics, and is passionate about a great user experience. You should be a driven designer with years of experience in UI Design, both hands-on and conceptually, and have at least 2+ years of management experience with direct reports under your guidance.
You should not be afraid to speak your mind and be encouraged to challenge everything. Taking full ownership of your work and responsibility for every detail is essential, with support from fellow designers. An interest in the FinTech industry and a passion for helping people build wealth is also important.
