An opportunity to play a key design role within a mission-driven, health tech start-up focused on supporting families with neurodivergent children. You would be required in their Bristol-based office 2-3 times a week. Sponsorship is not being offered. DBS background check required (working with vulnerable people).

Our client is a mission-driven early-stage health tech start-up focused on supporting families with neurodivergent children and complex needs. They are building a digital platform and AI-powered tools to help parents access guidance, assessments, and support faster and more effectively. Now looking to take their app to the next level and believe deeper insights discovered by a new (UX-led) Senior Product Designer will help them achieve this.

THE ROLE

  • You will be responsible for uncovering deep user insight, shaping product direction, and translating complex, emotionally charged needs into simple, calm, intuitive experiences.
  • UI quality matters – but insight, clarity and outcomes matter more.
  • You will work closely with engineering and product, work closely with senior leadership, and have real influence over how the product evolves.

UX Research (primary ownership)

  • Lead qualitative research: interviews, focus groups, diary studies
  • Lead quantitative research: analytics, session replays, behaviour analysis
  • Work confidently with stressed, overwhelmed and vulnerable users
  • Synthesise research into clear, actionable product insights

Product Discovery & UX Design

  • Own the Opportunity Solution Tree
  • Partner with Product and Engineering in continuous discovery
  • Run experiments to test desirability, usability, feasibility, business viability and ethics
  • Translate complex data and needs into clear, intuitive user journeys

UI Design & Design Quality

  • Work within and evolve the existing design system
  • Ensure WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards
  • Design high-fidelity screens and interactions in Figma
  • Support engineers with clear specs and acceptance criteria

THE CANDIDATE

  • Hands-on experience designing apps or complex digital products
  • Experience working with vulnerable, stressed or high-stakes user groups
  • Comfortable in early-stage or small-team environments
  • Confident influencing product direction through evidence
