We’re hiring a Lead User Researcher for a well-established, customer-focused organisation going through a major digital and product transformation. UR has become a core part of how they build products and shape strategy, and they now need a senior research leader to continue levelling up the practice.

This is a key hire, leading research across multiple product areas rather than sitting in one squad. You’ll work closely with Product and Design leadership, influence strategic decisions, and make sure research is being used at the right moments, in the right way.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Owning and shaping the user research roadmap
  • Working across 10–12 product teams, prioritising and allocating research effort
  • Identifying research opportunities beyond existing briefs and guiding stakeholders on where research adds most value
  • Running strategic and evaluative research across varied journeys and product areas
  • Delegating and coaching designers who run lighter-weight research where appropriate
  • Turning insight into direction, communicating clearly and influencing at senior level

Example work includes improving high-volume acquisition and purchase journeys, and helping build new AI-led customer experiences.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience operating as a Lead UR or equivalent
  • Strong track record working across multiple products simultaneously
  • Confident stakeholder partner, able to influence, prioritise, push back and drive clarity
  • Able to spot gaps and shape work proactively, not just respond to briefs
  • Pragmatic approach, comfortable choosing the right tool and depth for the situation
  • Experience across complex, digital product environments (ideally private sector)

Lovely place to work, awesome line manager, great culture and excellent benefits.
