What you’ll be doing: As the Senior Data Architect, you’ll be the first hire in this role, reporting directly to the Head of Data. This is a hands-on position where you’ll design, implement, and maintain the company’s data architecture, driving forward its data engineering capabilities. You’ll work with cross-functional product teams, collaborating with sub-teams in BI, Data Science & Analytics, and Data Engineering to align data strategies and optimise infrastructure.
- Data Transfers: Solving the challenge of transferring large tables from SQL Server to Snowflake and ensuring data flows smoothly across the organisation.
- Integration & Standardisation: Reviewing and integrating data across tools like Azure Data Factory, Python, and Snowflake, while standardising processes and building scalable systems.
- Architectural Vision: Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define and enforce best practices, ensuring the architecture supports data-driven decision-making across analytics, machine learning, and BI.
About you: You’ll bring strong expertise in:
- Azure Data Factory: Experience working at scale is highly valued.
- Python: Advanced skills to build and optimise data pipelines.
- SQL: Proficient in querying and transforming data to ensure accuracy.
- ETL: Experience with designing and managing ETL processes for data integration and transformation.
- Cloud Environments: Hands-on experience with Azure, including setting up and managing environments for production use.
Bonus points if you have experience setting up data production environments from scratch, including server configuration and environment setup, or if you’ve worked with SQL to Snowflake integrations. Experience navigating data security challenges, particularly in sensitive industries like healthcare, will also set you apart.
