A well-known UK D2C subscription brand is going through a major transformation and looking for a Lead Product Designer to join their product and design function. They’ve recently restructured after a period of fast growth, brought in a new CEO, and are now doubling down on profitability, customer retention and engagement. They still operate with an independent, start-up feel, but now with serious backing behind them.
The team you’ll be joining
You’ll sit in the Digital Product group, reporting into the Head of PM & Design and working alongside Product Managers, Senior Product Designers and Engineering. It’s a collaborative set-up with a flat, friendly culture. The design team is small but growing, and this role will act as the senior design presence day-to-day.
What you’ll be doing
This is a player-coach role, leaning more towards UX, discovery and problem-solving. You’ll lead on key journeys across the ecommerce subscription experience, working closely with PMs and engineering to shape roadmaps and deliver measurable improvements. Expect to switch between multiple product areas, contribute to strategic decisions and guide designers around you with best practice and hands-on support.
There’s an existing design system in place which you’ll help evolve and mature. They’re also rolling out a new CMS next year, so you’ll provide design oversight across that work, including any external contract support involved.
What they’re looking for
• Strong experience designing end-to-end digital products within an in-house, embedded environment
• E-commerce experience is essential, ideally subscription/D2C
• A portfolio that shows clear thinking: research, journey mapping, experimentation, metrics and measurable outcomes
• Clear ownership of projects rather than purely team-wide contributions
• Experience working across multiple product areas at once
• Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and leading design conversations
• Confidence with design systems, with experience scaling or maturing one
• Any familiarity with Zeroheight would be a bonus
