We're looking for a seasoned Communications Designer to join an innovation-led institute working on a high-priority strategic programme. This is a genuinely high-impact piece of work, focused on building and scaling a "North Star" vision for a new digital service offering. The team is exploring how connected data, service design and operational delivery can combine to create a more proactive, scalable customer experience, moving from a current model into a future state that is more efficient, more consistent and easier to scale.

The role is high visibility, with regular exposure to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders. You'll be working closely with a small, multi-disciplinary team in an innovation lab environment.

What you'll do

  • You'll be the person who makes the work land, taking complex strategy, product thinking, experiments and outcomes, and turning them into clear, compelling stories and beautifully crafted assets that senior audiences can quickly understand and buy into.
  • Key outputs include:
  • Executive-ready PowerPoint decks, narrative structure and presentation polish
  • Posters, workshop artefacts and "dressing the room" for senior visits
  • One-pagers and shareable summaries that capture progress and key outcomes
  • Visual storytelling that helps communicate current state to future state
  • Simplifying complex information into clean infographics, maps and charts
  • Establishing a consistent visual language and tone of voice for the programme
  • Nice to have, simple video creation, walkthroughs and scenario explainers
  • Ensuring all outputs align with global brand and design guidelines

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years' experience in communications design, narrative strategy or creative direction
  • Strong strategic storytelling, especially for executive audiences
  • High-end craft in layout, typography and data visualisation
  • A great writer as well as a strong designer
  • Comfortable working at pace in a delivery environment with senior stakeholders
  • Experience working cross-functionally, Product, Strategy, Engineering, PR

Contract details

  • 8.5 months
  • £650/day
  • Inside IR35
  • London based, regular time in a lab environment

If you're at your best when the stakes are high, the work is complex, and the story needs to be crystal clear, this is a great contract.
