Automotive client. An innovation team within the design function is exploring new service models, AI-enabled systems and data-driven products. They are looking for an experienced Communication Designer to embed directly within the team. This is not a brand refresh, campaign role, or conceptual art direction position. It's hands-on, fast-moving, and execution-focused.

THE ROLE

You will sit alongside product designers, researchers, and engineers, capturing work as it happens and translating complex technical thinking into clear, structured communication outputs. You will be responsible for creating high-volume, high-clarity artefacts that help the team communicate internally and to senior stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

  • Film design research sessions, interviews, and workshops
  • Produce weekly internal "video postcards" summarising progress
  • Edit content quickly and clearly (clarity over cinematic polish)
  • Create simple walkthrough or scenario-based explanation videos (You must be comfortable shooting and editing yourself.)

Communication & Presentation Materials

  • Develop posters and physical artefacts for lab environments
  • Maintain and update visual storytelling materials as the work evolves
  • Structure narratives for senior stakeholder presentations

Technical & Systems Visualisation

  • Simplify complex systems and AI-related concepts
  • Visualise flows, behaviours, and processes clearly
  • Support the development and communication of conversational AI agent skills and instructions

THE CANDIDATE

  • Strong graphic design and layout craft
  • Proven hands-on videography and editing experience
  • Excellent writing and headline discipline
  • Ability to simplify complex or technical content
  • Happy producing consistent, repeatable outputs on a weekly cadence

Ideal Background

  • Experience within innovation teams, R&D, product, or AI environments
  • Exposure to data products, systems thinking, or enterprise tools
