ZBD also empowers developers to embed bitcoin payments into video games and applications, such as podcasting and music streaming. ZBD’s unique proposition enables these partner developers to better monetize their games and apps by allowing users to receive micro-rewards for actions taken in the game or app. ZBD provides this functionality by leveraging Bitcoin and the Lightning Network protocol.

We are seeking a highly motivated FP&A Analyst to play a critical role in the financial management of our rapidly growing startup. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create financial forecasts, track key performance indicators (KPIs), support budgeting processes, and provide strategic insights to drive the company’s financial growth and operational efficiency. This position requires a deep understanding of financial analysis, an ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment, and a passion for the cryptocurrency and payments space. This role is a good fit for someone looking to have a high degree of ownership in monitoring and driving success within the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Planning & Forecasting: Work closely with the VP Finance in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts. Track financial performance and develop actionable insights to guide business strategy. Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to understand the impact of key assumptions, market conditions, and business initiatives.
• Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and management of the company’s budget to ensure resources are allocated effectively. Collaborate with department heads and hold them accountable for adhering to the budget.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, performing variance analysis between actual and budgeted results. Write SQL queries to seek financial information from the database. Provide recommendations based on data analysis to optimize performance.
• Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports for leadership, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
• Operational Support: Work closely with operational teams, including sales, marketing, product development, and operations to understand cost drivers, revenue streams, and business trends. Develop financial models to support decision-making and ensure alignment on financial goals and priorities.
• Data Integrity & Tools: Ensure the integrity of financial data, leveraging accounting and FP&A software tools. Continuously look for opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and systems, automating and finding efficiencies where available.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. CFA or CPA is a plus.
• Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or a related finance role.
  • Experience in a start-up environment or tech company is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the cryptocurrency industry, specifically Bitcoin payments processing, is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
  • Experience with small-business financial planning and accounting tools (e.g., Xero, Quickbooks) is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL coding, automated reporting and financial data visualization tools is a must (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Metabase).
• Analytical Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Ability to create actionable insights from complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
• Communication:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders and communicate with all levels within the organization, including C-Suite.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making at all levels.
• Attention to Detail:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on delivering high-quality work in a timely manner.
• Adaptability:
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving startup environment. Flexibility to shift priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in financial analysis within a fintech, cryptocurrency, or payments processing environment.
  • Understanding of cryptocurrency markets, digital currencies, and the regulatory landscape surrounding digital payments is an advantage.
