This is a pre-Series A AI platform solving a problem that didn't exist three years ago: as consumers shift from traditional search to AI-powered search, large language models like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity are becoming the new arbiters of brand perception, and most brands have no visibility into what those models say about them, or why. The platform captures and analyses real LLM responses at scale, identifies where recommendations originate across sources like Reddit, YouTube, reviews, and retail platforms, and automates the actions that measurably improve brand visibility and revenue attribution.
The company already works with well-known international consumer brands across FMCG and CPG, is growing fast, and has serious founding team pedigree: the CEO has two prior MarTech exits and the CTO is hands-on and technically exacting.
This is a genuine early engineering hire. You'll be joining a small, established engineering team at the point where the foundation is set and the real product work is beginning. The decisions you make about data models, API design, and system architecture will shape how the platform evolves over the next 18 months. The stack is TypeScript-centric end to end: Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Prisma on AWS, within a modern monorepo setup.
The CTO is looking for someone with strong full-stack instincts who can extend backend services and frontend views with equal confidence, write code that's easy to reason about, and communicate tradeoffs clearly under time pressure. This is a full-time, exclusive B2B contract engagement. You're expected to treat it as your sole professional commitment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Extending backend services, APIs, and core data models in TypeScript and Node.js
- Building data-rich dashboards in React and Next.js that surface AI and brand intelligence data
- Working with PostgreSQL and Prisma to model structured scoring data across brands, runs, LLM responses, and citations
- Integrating with LLM APIs and processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data at scale
- Contributing to cloud deployments, CI/CD, and platform observability on AWS
- Using AI-assisted and agentic coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or equivalent) as a core part of how you work day to day, not as an occasional add-on
What They're Looking For:
- 3–6 years of full-stack experience in a SaaS or startup environment
- Strong command of TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js
- Solid experience building and maintaining data-heavy APIs and relational data models, PostgreSQL strongly preferred
- Someone who reads unfamiliar codebases critically and can clearly articulate what's wrong and why
- Comfort working with LLM outputs and structured AI data; you don't need to have built models, but you should understand what they produce and how to handle them reliably
- Fluency with AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as part of your normal workflow, with a clear point of view on where they help and where they don't
- A builder mindset: pragmatic scoping, clear communication of tradeoffs, knowing when to stop
Useful But Not Essential:
- Experience in commerce environments (DTC, retail, marketplaces, ecommerce platforms, or commerce SaaS); this product sits adjacent to that world and context here is a real advantage
- Monorepo experience (Turborepo, pnpm workspaces)
- tRPC
- Observability and monitoring tooling
- Data pipeline or ingestion experience
- Docker / containerised deployments
Why It's Worth Considering:
- Early engineering role in a genuinely new applied AI category, at the moment it starts to matter
- Real production systems used by global brands, not a prototype
- Technically serious CTO who reviews code and has strong architectural opinions
- High ownership, low bureaucracy, direct founder access
- Remote, anywhere in Europe
- Full-time exclusive B2B contract, £65–90k depending on experience
- Meaningful early-stage equity and a credible path to exit
