Principle Accountabilities

  • Create network designs and documentation of transmission and packet solutions using transmission and L2/L3 technologies.
  • Review bespoke and on-net designs to ensure alignment with long-term network strategy and scalability.
  • Proactively manage network capacity and initiate infrastructure upgrades to support Service Delivery teams for customer driven orders.
  • Manage disconnects and capacity reallocation to optimize network utilization.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date technical documentation.
  • Configure and test network elements such as routers, switches, multiplexers.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal design principles.
  • Contribute to internal standards, processes, and technical guidelines.
  • Support service activation and implementation with the different telecom technologies in use.

Key Skills & Experience Requirements

  • Extensive experience in optical transmission systems, with a strong focus on Ciena 6500.
  • Deep technical understanding of DWDM, ROADM, Flexgrid and photonic layer technologies.
  • Understanding & experience of IP L2/L3 operator protocols.
  • It is advantageous to have knowledge and/or experience of BGP / MPLS.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply complex technical data and procedures.
  • Hands‑on experience with optical test equipment and performance monitoring tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a pragmatic approach.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Accountability‑driven and results‑oriented.
  • Familiarity with other vendor platforms (Nokia, Adva, Ekinops) is a plus.
  • Vendor certification (Juniper / Cisco / Nokia / Ciena) is a plus.
  • Ability to diversify and adapt to business needs.
  • Pragmatic and analytical approach to problem solving.
