Overview
Zayo Europe is seeking a commercially driven Packet Product Manager who will own, drive, and deliver customer‑centric packet products from concept to market success.
This role is highly hands‑on and execution‑focused, combining strong product ownership with proactive go‑to‑market leadership and direct customer engagement.
You will act as the commercial voice of the product, ensuring market needs, pricing, positioning, and customer adoption are fully embedded into the roadmap and delivery process.
Success in this role requires excellent communication, the ability to influence cross‑functional teams, and a strong bias toward delivering roadmap execution, enabling sales, and delivering measurable outcomes.
The Product Manager is accountable for the success of the product across its full lifecycle, partnering closely with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Pricing, and global counterparts.
Responsibilities
- Commercial Product Ownership & Delivery
- Own the commercial success of the Packet portfolio, build and ensure achievement of your products P&L targets, objectives, adoption, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide strong commercial input into the product roadmap, shaping priorities based on customer needs, market opportunity, and competitive dynamics.
- Build and articulate business cases for new products and features, clearly defining value, investment rationale, and expected outcomes.
- Ensure new products and features are delivered on time.
- Own the Zayo Europe Peering strategy to best position Zayo IP portfolio.
- Collaborate closely with Pricing to define monetization strategy, packaging, tiers, and feature differentiation.
- Own product, service, any relevant customer schedules and commercial commitments, ensuring alignment between roadmap delivery and customer expectations.
- Customer & Market Leadership
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert and product evangelist, clearly articulating the technical, commercial, and customer value of our Packet portfolio.
- Engage proactively and regularly with customers, including attending customer meetings as SME to support sales cycles, Po Cs, and deal progression.
- Continuously assess the competitive landscape, translating insights into differentiated positioning and actionable roadmap input.
- Go‑to‑Market Enablement & Adoption
- Create and deliver sales enablement and training, ensuring Sales and Sales Engineers can confidently articulate both commercial and technical value.
- Shape and influence marketing collateral and product messaging, ensuring consistent, compelling positioning across regions.
- Create and execute campaigns to proactively generate opportunities in close collaboration with Marketing.
- Actively support complex deals, providing commercial and product expertise where it directly accelerates revenue.
- Cross‑Functional & Global Collaboration
- Work hand‑in‑hand with Technical counterparts, ensuring commercial intent and customer value are delivered through technical execution.
- Align closely with US and global teams to maintain product and service integrity and a cohesive global product story.
- Provide clear, regular communication on product direction, priorities, and performance across the organization.
- Metrics & Results
- Define and own product success metrics covering adoption, revenue impact, customer outcomes, and data quality.
- Be hands‑on with data, clearly demonstrating how metrics are captured, tracked, and used to drive decisions and improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement based on measurable results.
Qualifications
- Proven Product Manager or Commercial Product role experience in Telecom, Network Connectivity (Layer 2 / 3) or Naa S
- Strong understanding of packet networking and underlying network
- Demonstrated experience partnering with Sales, Pricing, and Marketing to drive commercial outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills — able to influence, enable, and inspire confidence at all levels
- Data‑driven and hands‑on; comfortable working directly with metrics and commercial data
- Self‑starter with a strong delivery mindset and ability to lead through influence
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, global, matrixed organization
