We are looking for a Front-End Engineer who will own and elevate the user experience across our AI-powered payments and POS platform. You will build beautiful, responsive interfaces for our Next.js merchant dashboard and React Native terminal and POS applications—creating the experiences that 400+ restaurant and retail businesses interact with every day. You will work directly with our co-founders and small, agile technical team to make Zavo the most intuitive platform in the industry.
Compensation: £80,000–£120,000 base salary + equity
About Zavo: We are a YC-backed (F25) startup based in London, building an intelligent, all-in-one platform to replace today’s fragmented restaurant tech stack. Zavo powers card payments, POS, and AI for 400+ restaurants and retail businesses. We are backed by leading global investors, growing revenue rapidly, and moving fast to define the next generation of restaurant technology.
What You Will Do:
- Build and ship frontend features across our Next.js merchant dashboard
- Develop React Native interfaces for our terminal software running on payment devices
- Create pixel-perfect, responsive UIs that restaurant owners and staff love using
- Collaborate closely with design and backend engineers to ship cohesive features
- Optimize frontend performance and user experience across web and mobile
- Work directly with co-founders—your ideas and code ship fast and make real impact
What We Are Looking For:
- Deep expertise in React and Next.js—you have shipped production apps that real users depend on
- Experience with React Native for mobile development (or strong desire to learn)
- 3-5+ years building frontend experiences with obsessive attention to detail
- Strong understanding of modern CSS, responsive design, and frontend performance
- Founder mentality—you treat this like your own company and do whatever it takes
- Customer obsession—genuinely excited about building products for restaurant owners and merchants
- High agency and comfortable with ambiguity—we are a small team moving fast
- Based in London (hybrid)—we need in-person collaboration with the team
- UK work authorization—we can’t sponsor visas at this stage
