We’re Hiring: Deputy Store Manager – Zara (Birmingham)
At Zara, we move fast, think commercially and lead from the front. We’re looking for a Deputy Store Manager to join our Birmingham store — a strong, visible leader who thrives in a high-volume environment and knows how to deliver results through people, product and pace.
As Deputy Store Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager to drive the full store operation — from sales and stock flow to team performance and customer experience. You’ll be a key connector across departments, ensuring everything runs seamlessly while keeping the energy high on the shop floor. This is a hands-on leadership role, where no two days are the same. You’ll lead with ownership, stay calm under pressure and continuously look for ways to improve performance.
What You’ll Be Doing- Commercial & Operations
- Drive store performance to meet and exceed KPIs
- Coordinate across Product, Operations and CX teams to maximise sales
- Ensure efficient stock flow, replenishment and product availability
- Identify opportunities and implement improvements quickly
- Maintain strong operational standards across all areas
- People & Leadership
- Lead, motivate and develop a large, diverse team
- Manage rotas, productivity and payroll in line with budgets
- Support recruitment, performance management and succession planning
- Partner with HR on employee relations and wellbeing initiatives
- Create a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture
- Customer Experience
- Lead by example to deliver an exceptional customer journey
- Work closely with CX teams to elevate in-store experience
- Ensure smooth operations across all customer touchpoints
- Compliance & Standards
- Uphold Health & Safety, security and cash management procedures
- Protect stock and reduce shrinkage through strong controls
- Maintain high presentation and maintenance standards
- Proven experience leading in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
- Strong commercial mindset with confidence using KPIs and data
- Experience managing large teams and driving performance
- Highly organised with excellent planning and prioritisation skills
- Resilient, adaptable and solution-focused under pressure
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Passion for fashion, product and customer experience
