Zanda is an Executive Search partner that works exclusively with high-growth start-ups as they look to scale their business with senior talent. Zanda partners with VCs, Founders, CEOs, and CFOs when it comes to successfully delivering on key senior appointments. Zanda is working with a high-growth AI infrastructure business that is scaling rapidly across Europe. Backed by leading international investors, the company is capital-intensive and entering a pivotal stage, requiring an experienced financial leader to professionalise the function, navigate complex debt markets, and drive strategic growth. The business provides critical AI and infrastructure solutions, with ambitious plans to raise and deploy significant capital over the coming years. With competitors investing billions globally, the company must stay agile and competitive – moving quickly to secure strategic partnerships, financing, and transactions. With a strong foundation in place and an expanding leadership team, the company is now hiring a Chief Financial Officer with significant PE experience to act as a strategic co-pilot to the CEO. This is a rare opportunity to lead investor relations and capital raising in a capex-heavy, fast-paced business while building out a world-class finance function.

Responsibilities

• Lead on investor relations, debt financing, and capital raising, representing the business with credibility to lenders and investors (c.80% of role).
• Build and professionalise the finance function: budgeting, forecasting, modelling, reporting, and controls.
• Partner closely with the CEO, providing financial and commercial decision support.
• Manage project financing and capex-heavy planning, ensuring efficient deployment of significant capital at pace.
• Oversee BAU finance, supported by an ambitious Financial Controller, while driving the company’s first audit and systems implementation.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders, including data centre providers, investors, and strategic partners.
• Support future exit planning (IPO, leveraged deal, or trade sale).

What background should you have

• A proven senior finance leader (CFO or equivalent) with experience in capex-intensive, infrastructure or highly leveraged businesses.
• Strong track record in PE backed environments with significant debt raising, project financing, and investor relations experience.
• Exposure to exits (IPO, leveraged transaction, or trade sale).
• Ability to move seamlessly between hands-on operational finance and strategic leadership.
• Gravitas and credibility to build trust with both investors and the Board.
• Ideally, knowledge of cloud infrastructure, data centres, or adjacent hardware-intensive sectors.
