Supporting high growth Tech and Digital Startups / Scaleups with CFO hires, Senior Finance Leaders, Interim Finance Support and Fractional Experts
Zanda is an Executive Search partner that works exclusively with high growth start-ups as they look to scale their business with senior talent. Zanda partners with VCs, Founders, CEOs, and CFOs when it comes to successfully delivering on key senior appointments.
Who is the business?
Zanda is supporting a private equity backed SaaS company in Manchester that has grown to over £10m in annual revenues. With continued product innovation and international expansion, the business is scaling quickly and doing so with purpose. Following the recent appointment of a CFO, the business is now looking for a Financial Controller to run the day-to-day finance operations and help build a function fit for growth and eventual transaction.
This is a great opportunity to join a high performing team early in its PE journey, in a role designed with development in mind. The CFO is passionate about mentoring this person towards a future Finance Director role as the company moves through its next phase of growth and value creation.
The team works in a hybrid model, typically spending two days a week at their central Manchester office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of financial operations, running the small finance function day to day
- Implement and improve scalable processes and controls across the business
- Support monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Drive financial planning and analysis to guide strategic decisions
- Partner with the CFO on investor reporting and transaction readiness
- Collaborate across departments on key commercial initiatives, including customer and product level analysis
- Oversee cash flow, working capital and compliance obligations
- Contribute to the integration of future acquisitions and prepare for PE due diligence
What background should you have before you press apply!
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA and CIMA)
- Experience in a high growth, private equity/venture capital backed or fast scaling environment
- Strong grasp of financial operations and controls in a hands on role
- Track record of producing quality financial reporting and commercial insights
- Appetite to grow into a broader leadership role as the business scales
- Ambitious, proactive and confident working closely with an executive team
