Zacks Eye Clinic is a multi-award-winning independent practice based in central London. We specialise in complex and bespoke eyewear, specialist contact lenses, myopia management, and pediatrics. The clinic attracts patients locally, nationally, and internationally through referrals and recommendations.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IP Optometrist with a special interest in contact lenses to join our team. The role offers a varied caseload including refraction, anterior eye care and specialist contact lens practice.

Role Overview

You will provide a mix of general and complex clinical care, including refraction, contact lens fitting and management of ocular surface disease and minor eye conditions within your prescribing scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a mix of general sight tests and complex refractions, including for patients with low vision.
  • Fit and manage a full spectrum of contact lenses, from routine disposables to complex and bespoke designs, including orthokeratology, scleral and specialty lenses for keratoconus, irregular corneas and high astigmatism.
  • Manage dry eye disease and ocular surface conditions (with drugs, plugs, IPL, etc).
  • Diagnose and treat minor eye conditions (IP role).
  • Deliver excellent patient care, including clear communication, education and aftercare.
  • Work with advanced diagnostic and imaging equipment.

About You

  • GOC-registered Optometrist with Independent Prescribing qualification.
  • Experience in fitting specialty contact lenses in a hospital or specialist clinic.
  • Confident with complex refraction and managing a range of clinical presentations.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of contact lenses and dry eye management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high clinical standards.
