My client is an international design and manufacturing organisation, with a fantastic reputation in a multitude of different industries. They are well established, with an impressive history over the last 60 years.
They are looking to add an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to their site on the outskirts of Edinburgh. Reporting to the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, the primary responsibility of the role is to support in the mechanical design and development of a variety of products for the commercial market.
Experience required:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a mechanical engineering and design role
- Good understanding of engineering & design governance with the ability to follow and apply governance processes and procedures to a design in accordance with a Design Lifecycle process, under the direction of the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
- Ability to create Product and Technical Specification documents and drawings
- CAD / SolidWorks, or similar, design software experience, including Finite Element Analysis is desirable
- Experience of product & system testing and evaluation
- Experience of systems simulation and modelling is desirable
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to create and implement ideas for continuous improvement within the engineering and design team
Qualifications:
- HND in Mechanical Engineering
- IEng/CEng professional status desirable or working towards IEng/CEng status
