The Role: Assistant Manager
As Assistant Manager, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the store, supporting the Store Manager to deliver commercial success and create a positive, high-performing team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Store Manager in leading, motivating and developing the retail team
- Driving sales, profitability and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Coaching and developing colleagues to maximise their performance
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training
- Maintaining high standards of visual merchandising, stock presentation and store operations
- Taking responsibility for the store in the Store Manager's absence
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting effective stock management
- Leading by example and creating an engaging, positive working environment
About You
To be successful in this Assistant Manager role, you'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader or Senior Sales Assistant within retail
- Experience leading, coaching or developing a team
- A strong commercial mindset with the ability to drive sales and achieve retail KPIs
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A proactive, hands‑on approach to retail management
- The confidence to take responsibility and lead a team in a fast-paced store environment
Experience within fashion, outdoor, sports, footwear, lifestyle or premium retail would be advantageous.
