We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing client based in Lisburn who is seeking a motivated Quality Assurance Assistant to join their Technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with 1-2 years' experience or someone already working in a QA, Food Safety or Technical role who is looking to develop their career. With significant investment planned across the business, including a full refurbishment of the Lisburn site over the next 12-18 months, there has never been a more exciting time to join. The Role
As a Quality Assurance Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining the company's high standards of food safety, quality and legal compliance. Working within the Quality Management System (QMS), you will help ensure procedures are monitored, verified and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out internal audits and support ongoing compliance activities.
- Assist with preparations for customer, BRCGS and regulatory audits and site visits.
- Monitor and verify cold chain compliance.
- Review inspections and maintain accurate quality records.
- Monitor and approve external service suppliers.
- Conduct product traceability exercises.
- Support investigations relating to customer queries, non-conformances and technical issues.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects across the Quality department.
About You
You'll be highly organised, detail-oriented and committed to maintaining exceptional quality standards. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced regulated environment and be keen to develop your technical knowledge and career.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Quality Assurance, Food Safety or Technical role (graduates with 1-2 years' relevant experience will also be considered).
- Third-level qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
- HACCP Level 2 qualification.
- Experience working within a regulated food manufacturing or food distribution environment.
- Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Knowledge of BRCGS standards and involvement in BRCGS audits within food manufacturing or storage and distribution.
- Full clean driving licence, with willingness to travel to other company sites when required.
Desirable
- HACCP Level 3.
- Food Safety Level 3.
- Level 3 Award in Delivering Training.
- Internal Auditing qualification and practical auditing experience.
