An established retailer is looking for a Marketplace Partnerships Manager to grow its seller network and broaden its online product range. You'll lead new partner acquisition across selected categories, identifying commercial opportunities and building relationships with brands and sellers that meet customer demand.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prospecting and winning brands, suppliers and sellers.
  • Using customer demand, category insight and competitor ranges to identify opportunities.
  • Negotiating commission, fees and commercial terms.
  • Leading and developing a new business team.
  • Maintaining a prioritised pipeline with clear next steps and accurate forecasts.
  • Working with compliance and onboarding colleagues to launch partners quickly and to the right standard.
  • Tracking launch progress and early sales to turn agreements into productive partnerships.

The successful Business Development Manager will bring:

  • Proven marketplace or eCommerce new business experience, with a record of acquiring sellers, brands or partners for an online marketplace, retailer or platform.
  • Evidence of achieving acquisition and sales targets, supported by clear results.
  • Strong negotiation skills and an understanding of marketplace economics, commission structures and margin.
  • Experience managing a high-volume sales pipeline through a CRM.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing a sales or new business team.
  • Commercial judgement and the ability to use product, category and customer insight to prioritise opportunities.
  • Confidence building relationships with founders, brand owners and senior commercial contacts.
  • The ability to coordinate delivery across teams and take ownership through to launch.

You'll be comfortable getting into the detail, responding constructively to direct feedback and adapting when priorities change. You can operate effectively while processes are still developing, taking initiative and maintaining commercial and customer standards under pressure.
