The predicted salary is between 34000 - 48000 £ per year.

A Buyer for a fashion retailer in the North West, working in a hybrid environment with a competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000, plus car allowance and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

You will need to be an experienced Buyer with a proven track record of working well under pressure, leading and inspiring your team while executing ambitious strategies throughout each season. In this role, you will explore your love for product in a creative and collaborative environment.

As the Buyer:

  • You will have developed Buyers Admin Assistants, Assistant Buyers or Junior Buyers through challenging and nurturing them in their roles to achieve promotions and key career highlights.
  • Examples of reviewing ways of working and improving efficiencies.
  • Range building is critical.
  • Onboarding new suppliers and developing supplier strategy.
  • Supplier visits.
  • A multi-product background is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building lessons learnt presentations for your Heads and Directors.
  • Clear ability to communicate best and worst indicators and build strategy points from these learnings with the wider, more junior members of the team.
  • Challenging and holding your direct reports accountable for running and trading their own sub-categories.
  • Ensuring daily that your team feels motivated and supported with all tasks.
  • Reviewing and building clear pricing architectures with merchandisers.
  • Planning with your Merchandiser all buys.
  • Building well-balanced ranges.
  • Identifying gaps within all ranges and capitalising on new opportunities.
  • Encouraging junior members of the team to react to sales, always looking to make money for the business with new products.
  • Reviewing colour, prints, shapes while protecting best sellers but at all times introducing newness to keep ranges moving forward.
  • Experience with trading from the Far East and closer to home (short and long lead) is essential.
  • Maintaining supplier relationships while onboarding new suppliers to the business.
  • Ability to source new fabrics and trims as well as having experience sourcing more sustainable fabrications.
  • Experience of test and trial methods to drive newness and profit for your department.
  • Reputable trading performance at margin level and cash sales.
  • Experienced with OTB and seasonal budget management with your merchandiser.
  • Ability to dive into historical and new data for your department so that commercial decisions can be made from a trading point of view.
  • Managing Monday Trade reports and key actions for your department to take.
  • Ability to oversee the wider team for critical path and delivery schedule.
  • Managing and communicating any stock issues, delays, cancellations with the full team.
  • Managing and preparing for all product launches via the critical path you set for your entire department.
  • Managing campaign and trigger dates to ensure key styles launch on time successfully.
  • Working closely with Merchandiser to plan and prepare forecasting and projections for any volume programmes.
  • Conducting cross costing projects to protect and increase margin.
  • Attending trend and design meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
