A well-established, UK-based consumer and lifestyle retailer operating across multi-channel platforms, including physical locations and a growing online presence. The business has a strong brand heritage and loyal customer base and is now entering a critical phase focused on improving performance, strengthening operations and building a more resilient commercial model.
This is a hands-on Finance Director position, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the leadership team. The role will play a central part in driving turnaround activity, improving profitability and supporting operational decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of financial strategy, planning, forecasting and reporting across the P&L.
- Drive margin improvement, cost control and disciplined capital allocation.
- Own cash flow and working capital optimisation, with particular focus on inventory and cost-to-serve.
- Partner closely with operations to improve supply chain performance, including oversight and optimisation of third-party logistics (3PL) arrangements.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance and risk management.
- Support broader transformation initiatives, including systems, processes and performance reporting.
- Build, lead and develop a high-calibre finance team.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a senior commercial finance leader in a consumer-led, multi-channel environment.
- Clear track record of turnaround, transformation or recovery situations, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Strong understanding of operational finance drivers, including inventory, logistics, margin and fulfilment economics.
- Confident, credible partner to a CEO and senior leadership team.
- Pragmatic, resilient and outcomes-focused.
- Base salary: £150,000-£180,000
