We're partnering with a private equity-backed, international consumer products business entering a critical phase of its journey. With a well-established global footprint, a highly diversified product range, and strong foundations in place, the business is now focused on operational optimisation, margin improvement, and building a scalable platform for growth. This is a hands-on CFOO role, offering full ownership across finance and operations equally, and a genuine opportunity to shape the direction and performance of the business alongside an inspirational CEO and investor group.
This is not a traditional CFO position. You will operate as a strategic and operational leader, responsible for driving both financial performance and day-to-day operational execution, which will be a significant part of the role. You'll work across the full value chain, from product and supply chain through to commercial performance and investor reporting, with a clear mandate to stabilise, improve, and scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial strategy, planning, and performance management
- Drive improvements in margin, cash flow, and working capital
- Take ownership of inventory, supply chain, and operational efficiency
- Oversee logistics, warehousing, and fulfilment performance
- Build and evolve systems, reporting, and data infrastructure (ERP/WMS)
- Partner closely with the CEO and investors on value creation strategy
- Lead across finance, operations, HR, IT, and property
- Deliver high-quality board reporting and stakeholder communication
The Candidate
We're looking for a commercially sharp, hands-on finance and operations leader with a track record in complex, product-led environments. You will bring:
- Experience in a PE-backed or fast-paced SME environment
- Background in consumer products, wholesale, retail, or distribution
- Strong understanding of stock, supply chain, and multi-SKU businesses
- A proven ability to improve performance and drive operational change
- Experience building or scaling systems, processes, and teams
- A pragmatic, sleeves-rolled-up approach with strong leadership capability
Why Join
- True end-to-end ownership across finance and operations
- Opportunity to lead a turnaround and growth journey
- High visibility with an engaged private equity investor
- Meaningful equity upside aligned to value creation
- Ability to shape the future of a growing international business
The Reality
This is a high-impact, high-responsibility role in a business that requires pace, ownership, and strong execution. It will suit someone who thrives in hands-on environments, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is motivated by building something of real value.
