We're exclusively partnering with an ambitious, founder-led consumer business to appoint a Financial Controller into a newly created leadership role. Having experienced exceptional growth in recent years, the business is entering its next phase and is investing heavily in its finance function. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside an experienced Finance Director, taking ownership of financial control, reporting and commercial insight across a complex, multi-entity business. Importantly, this role offers a genuine route to becoming Head of Finance as the business continues to grow. The Role
- Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll lead the financial control function while providing accurate, timely and commercially focused reporting to support business performance.
- You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, improving reporting, strengthening controls and helping leadership make faster, better-informed commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, management accounts and board reporting across multiple entities
- Deliver accurate, commercially focused financial reporting and analysis
- Own budgeting, forecasting and variance reporting
- Improve financial controls, reporting processes and automation
- Partner with commercial and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge
- Lead balance sheet integrity, audit preparation and statutory reporting
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
- Manage and develop members of the finance team
- Support strategic projects alongside the Finance Director
About You
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong technical finance foundations and the commercial awareness to operate within a fast-moving business. You'll ideally bring:
- Practice-trained background before moving into industry
- Previous experience within e-commerce, retail or another fast-paced consumer business
- Strong financial control, management reporting and statutory accounting experience
- Experience operating across multiple entities
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Strong systems knowledge and advanced Excel capability
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge existing processes and drive improvement
