Senior Designer - Premium womenswear | West Yorkshire | FTC - Maternity Cover | Up to £45k DOE + £6k Car Allowance

Calling all Senior Designers this one's got your name on it! ?

We're working with a brilliant, established fashion business that's performing really well and looking for a Senior Designer to join the team on a maternity cover basis.

This isn't your typical fashion design role.

Think premium, boutique-inspired, grown-up femininity, beautiful attention to detail and commercially strong product.

Think lace inserts, embroidery, considered details and ranges that feel elevated rather than throwaway.

And the best bit? You'll have genuine influence.
So, what's the role?

You'll be designing across a multi-product fashion range, working closely with Buying, Merchandising, QA and suppliers to create commercial, customer-focused collections from concept through to final product.

You'll be hands-on with

  • Building and developing seasonal ranges in line with the brand DNA and customer
  • Trend, colour and competitor research, including shopping and catwalk analysis
  • Developing key shapes and working closely with Buyers on range reviews
  • Working across product development and range evolution
  • Collaborating with Print Design, QA and Merchandising
  • Using trade data and in-season trends to continually refine the range
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and attending supplier meetings
  • Getting out and about on European shopping trips and Far East factory visits
  • Presenting your ideas and ranges to senior stakeholders and directors

You'll also be the senior design presence within the team, stepping up when the Head of Design is unavailable.

That means mentoring and supporting the wider design team, presenting at senior-level meetings and being a real go-to person across the function.

What are they looking for?

We're after someone who can hit the ground running.

You'll ideally have a strong retail or mail-order fashion background, excellent range planning skills and broad multi-product experience.

You'll need to be

  • Commercially minded with great judgement
  • Highly organised with brilliant attention to detail
  • Confident presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable influencing and negotiating
  • Proficient in Photoshop and/or Illustrator
  • Someone who takes ownership and works well autonomously
  • Positive, proactive and able to work at pace
  • A natural mentor who enjoys supporting others
  • And the perks
  • up to £45k salary DOE + £6,000 car allowance
  • 29 days holiday + 8 bank holidays = 37 days
  • Private medical
  • Pension matched up to 5%
  • Staff discount
  • Hybrid working - office-based Tuesday-Thursday, with some flexibility to work just 2 days in some weeks
  • European shopping trips
  • Far East supplier/factory trips

The role is based in West Yorkshire, and you'll ideally be available to start mid-October, giving you a couple of weeks to settle in before heading out to the Far East.

This is a maternity cover FTC and a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Designer who wants a role with real autonomy, senior exposure and the chance to make a genuine impact on a high-performing fashion brand.

If you're a commercially savvy Senior Designer who loves beautiful, considered product and wants to step into a role with real responsibility - we want to hear from you! ?
