We're working with an established and growing business within the DIY and Home Improvement sector, currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to take ownership of a key territory - managing and developing relationships across a mix of independent retailers, buying groups, and national chains.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven sales professional who thrives in the field, enjoys building strong partnerships, and is looking for a role with real autonomy, visibility, and progression. The Role:

  • Manage and grow sales across a designated territory, targeting a mix of trade customers and retail stores, including independent outlets and major chain accounts.
  • Develop strong relationships with buyers, store managers, and key decision-makers to secure new business and increase product listings.
  • Identify new sales opportunities, opening accounts with both independent retailers and larger chains to expand market presence.
  • Execute sales plans, promotional campaigns, and product launches in coordination with marketing and commercial teams.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximise profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Manage sales reporting, forecasts, and pipeline updates using CRM systems.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a similar Area Sales Manager role, within a consumer goods environment - ideally DIY or FMCG.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across all levels.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset to spot opportunities.
  • Organised, reliable, and comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team.
  • Eagerness to grow and progress within a business that values talent and initiative.
