An ambitious and growing retail brand is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Marketplace to lead the next phase of its marketplace growth. This is a senior commercial role with ownership of marketplace strategy, performance and expansion across the UK and international markets. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will take responsibility for accelerating growth across established marketplace channels while identifying and launching new opportunities. The business already has a strong presence across major third-party marketplaces and has significant ambitions to broaden its international reach. You'll combine strategic leadership with a hands-on approach, driving profitable growth, improving marketplace performance and building the capability of the team around you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and deliver the overall marketplace growth strategy.
- Own commercial performance, profitability and growth across marketplace channels.
- Accelerate performance across Amazon, eBay and other relevant platforms.
- Identify and launch new marketplace opportunities across international territories.
- Lead marketplace pricing, promotions, advertising and commercial planning.
- Improve product listings, content, availability, reviews and organic visibility.
- Drive advertising efficiency and maximise return on marketplace investment.
- Oversee forecasting, stock performance, compliance and marketplace account health.
- Establish clear reporting and KPIs across sales, margin, advertising and operational performance.
- Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing marketplace team.
- Partner closely with e-commerce, marketing, product, finance and supply chain teams.
- Keep ahead of marketplace trends, emerging platforms and new commercial opportunities.
About You
You’ll be an experienced marketplace leader with a strong commercial mindset and a track record of delivering meaningful growth within a consumer or retail environment. Ideally, you will bring:
- Significant experience managing and scaling brands through Amazon.
- Broad marketplace experience across platforms such as eBay and other major or emerging channels.
- Strong knowledge of Amazon advertising, marketplace operations and account management.
- Experience launching new marketplaces, territories or international channels.
- A clear understanding of margin, stock management and profitable growth.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to make commercial decisions.
- Experience managing and developing marketplace teams.
- A hands-on mentality and the ability to operate at both strategic and operational level.
- International marketplace exposure, particularly across Europe and/or North America.
