Interim ERP Readiness & Transformation Lead
London | Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office
£750 - £850 per day | Outside IR35
Initial 3 to 6-month contract | Potential extension
Zachary Daniels are partnering with a growing consumer-facing organisation at a pivotal stage of its business and technology transformation. We are looking for an experienced ERP transformation specialist to lead the organisation through the critical readiness phase of a major ERP programme. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can assess the current operating environment, define what ERP-ready looks like and create a clear route into selection and implementation. This is not a generalist Programme Manager position. The successful candidate will bring deep ERP, business process, data and operational transformation experience.
The Role
- Lead end-to-end process discovery across Finance, Supply Chain, Product, Commercial and Technology
- Map current-state processes and identify systems, data, control and operational gaps
- Define pragmatic future-state processes and ERP requirements
- Establish the master data architecture and governance required for ERP readiness
- Translate business needs into clear functional, data, integration, reporting and control requirements
- Assess which capabilities should sit within the ERP and which should remain within adjacent systems
- Lead or support a vendor-neutral ERP selection process, including RFI/RFP, demonstrations, fit-gap analysis and partner assessment
- Develop a practical implementation roadmap covering resources, dependencies, data migration, business readiness and risk
- Build alignment across senior stakeholders and ensure critical business decisions are made
- Potentially continue through implementation, acting as the senior business-side transformation lead and managing the chosen implementation partner
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience leading ERP readiness, selection and implementation programmes
- A strong track record of taking organisations from early-stage discovery through to ERP selection and delivery
- Deep hands-on experience in process mapping, requirements definition, fit-gap analysis and implementation planning
- Strong understanding of Finance, Supply Chain, Inventory, Product and Commercial processes
- Experience establishing master data structures, ownership, governance and migration readiness
- Knowledge of multiple ERP platforms, with the ability to operate vendor-neutrally
- Experience leading RFI/RFP processes and assessing ERP vendors and implementation partners
- Previous experience within retail, ecommerce, consumer goods, FMCG, manufacturing or another operationally complex environment
- The credibility to influence senior stakeholders while remaining close to the detail
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach and the ability to turn complexity into clear decisions and actions
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to shape a strategically important ERP transformation from its earliest stages. You will have genuine ownership of the readiness agenda, influence key technology and operating-model decisions, and create the foundations for a successful implementation.
Location: London, hybrid with 3 days per week in the office
Contract: Initial 3 to 6 months, with potential to continue through implementation
Day rate: £750 - £850 per day, Outside IR35
